SHINE Empowerment Program – February 2019

What is Shine?

Shine is a personal development program aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop greater self-awareness and personal growth.

Shine is already fully accredited and being run in 50 countries over 6 continents with great success. Shine is broken down into three units, each focusing on achieving specific objectives. “Worth” focuses on enhancing self-esteem, “Strength” aims to increase emotional intelligence, and “Purpose” encourages participants to dream and set goals for the future. Our aim is that you feel empowered to achieve your goals and move forward upon completion of the Shine program. We are happy to say that we have had great success with our participants to date!

Length
The Lokahi Foundation run Shine over a 7-week period.

Content
The first two weeks focus on “Worth” and after this time, you will have gained an understanding of the purpose of the program; identified what you personally value and why; developed an awareness of YOUR personal value; recognised the value of being one-of-a-kind; distinguished the difference between uniqueness and comparison; have an understanding of the worth concept; and identify ways to vale yourself.

The next two weeks focus on “Strength”. Through these sessions, you will explore and understand that you are created with feelings; demonstrate the skills required to enhance your power of choice; apply and practise decision making skills; and recognise the value of respect and boundaries.

Weeks 5 & 6 focus on “Purpose”. During this, you will recognise the value of a positive environment for your potential to grow; identify ways to build your confidence; identify your personal desires and strengths; and develop an understanding that you have something to contribute.

Our final week is a celebration week, held at Dress for Success where all the participants will take part in a styling workshop and be personally styled and given an outfit to take home! It’s a lovely, positive way to end the program and a great chance to celebrate with the new friends you will make!
